This is also the first ad server system certification conducted by BPA Worldwide in Asia.

BPA Worldwide's ad serving system complies with all Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) guidelines and provides additional systems verification that goes above and beyond the IAB requirements. Some of those added benchmarks include a disaster recovery/business continuity process review, behavioral/activity-based filtering procedures and the reporting of the time at which data is considered final.

Online advertising outfit Innity Corp Bhd started out in 1999 as a web portal designer and Internet solutions provider. Then known as Innovitive Unity Sdn Bhd, it was founded by its current managing director Looa Hong Tuan.

ADVERTISERS today believe in the power of the Web, but their online spending is still too conservative, laments Innity Corp Bhd executive chairman Phang Chee Leong.

"In certain countries, online advertising has even surpassed billboard and cinema advertising. So there is a high growth potential for online advertising here," he tells BizWeek.

Last year, online spending made up RM32mil, or less than 1%, of Malaysia's total ad expenditure. Phang is convinced that the country will catch up with the global norm of 4% by 2012.

Innity Corp Bhd plans to set up new sales offices in India and Hong Kong by next year to expand its overseas presence, executive chairman Phang Chee Leong said Wednesday.The online advertising solution provider had allocated about RM200,000 for the new sales offices, he said.Currently, it has three sales offices, with two of them in Vietnam and one in Singapore.Opening of new sales offices was part of Innitys expansion plan, and it aimed to increase the regional contribution to total profit to 15 percent from five percent last year, Phang said after launching the companys prospectus here.v

En route to a listing on the Mesdaq Market of Bursa Malaysia, Innity expects to raise RM11.5 million in proceeds from its right issue and public issue.Phang said RM4.5 million will be allocated for research and development, RM2.85 million for working capital, RM1 million for marketing expenditure and RM1.5 million for setting up new offices in the region.Innitys listing exercise involves a right issue of 20 million ordinary shares at 10 sen each and public issue of 17 million ordinary shares at 55 sen each, he said.Of the 17 million shares, 2.75 million shares will be offered to the public, 4.25 million shares for directors, employees and persons who have contributed to the group and the remaining 10 million shares for selected investors.Given the industrys bright prospects, the group expects to record a higher revenue for its current financial year by 69.4 percent to RM15.75 million from RM9.25 million in the previous year, Phang said.

"In specific, our Malaysian operations through our subsidiary Innity Sdn Bhd is expected to record a revenue increase of 45.2 percent," he said.Malaysia, he added, continued to be the largest revenue contributor, followed by Vietnam and Singapore.Phang said the upcoming UEFA European Football Championship (Euro 2008) and Beijing Olympics will help to boost advertising spending this year.In addition, the online advertising market in Malaysia is expected to register a 55 percent growth rate in 2008, he said, adding that Innitys market share in 2006 was 42 percent."In fact, such events and even the countrys general election had boosted our business. "When the dotcom bubble burst in 2001/02, it became evident that we couldn't rely solely on the web portal development business. We needed to complement our existing business and began to provide online advertising solutions,? CEO Phang Chee Leong tells The Edge.

The company was known as Innovative Innity Sdn Bhd when it started out as an Internet solutions provider in 1999. While managing e-commerce websites, Innity realized that e-business had more to offer after it discovered that its clients sought alternative advertising channels as they faced restrictions in ad placements in traditional media.

"When clients came to us to seek alternative channels to advertise, we realized that there was a need for new channels. That created the idea for online advertising but it did not take off until after the tech-com bubble burst, " says Phang.
